Italian Contemporary interior design. Italian contemporary furniture.
Contemporary Italian interior design is usually one step ahead. They manage to create a warmth atmosphere incorporating a variety of different elements and textures without ever looking uncluttered or messy. As we have said in other posts, one of the keys to contemporary interior design style is the presence of wood with fabric or faux leather. The images below belong to Pacema, an Italian company that specializes in tailoring wood to create customized furniture designs. Their products and interiors are captivating, friendly, elegant and welcoming. We are going to take a peek at a couple of their living room furniture designs.
This living room sofa is surrounded in the back and one of its sides by a wood structure that gives depth to the piece (by generating contrast in color and material) and that prevents the sofa of looking completely naked. When living rooms do not have much spare space, the sofa will be usually placed against a wall, when this is not the case, a functional structure in the back is and excellent idea.
In this case, the interior design is composed by mixture: we have three different colors of wood and furniture belonging to different styles. The dinning set has very clear French outlines while the wall panel at the right tends more towards contemporary design style. At the back, in the left, we can see a white wood sideboard with a chandelier on the table top. What specially interests me here is the clear divider wall, a great resource to split spaces (dividing dining room and living room but interior design styles too) yet without making them smaller. This clear wall divides and unites at the same time, for it puts together all the furniture styles. This is a perfect example of hybrid designs, which require the eye of an expert to be successfully implemented.
