In these present days, the Entrance Hall has ceased to be an ordinary space to transform into an almost exclusive part of the house in sophisticated homes. It is normally used, for instance, in buildings used for working purposes like offices or in properties of big dimensions.

The entrance hall is and intermediary place that communicates the house with the exterior, it constitutes the first impression that the visitor receives and, above all, the area where we take off the things that we bring from the streets and get into the warmth of the home. In some houses or flats this space is going to be replaced by a small storing room to leave coats, shoes or other objects (specially in snowy areas, where you need to get your shoes off not to ruin the flooring).

How to design and entrance hall

Any house or flat can have a small entrance hall formed by few elements. In some cases it will be independent rooms, in others a small area connected with the living or dining room. In any of these cases, it is easy to put together an entrance hall only with a couple of basic furniture.

Furniture
A key element in an entrance hall will be the placement of a small piece of furniture that can be used to leave keys, mail and other objects that we bring from the outside world. Traditionally, it will be a console table, but you can use shelving as well. It is important to add a mirror on top of the console table or if you don’t use one, you can add a tall rectangular mirror or a mirror with hooks to be functional.

This console table does not come with drawers, yet the space in-between can be used to leave keys, mail, mobile, etc.
